In Iide-town, I strongly recommend you to try making “Hanagasa”.
Hanagasa is straw hat adomed in red flowers.
In Yamagata Pref. there is a famous dancing event called as “Hanagasa” Festival
in early August every year.
At the festival more than 10,000 dancers with “Hanagasa” parade down the streets
under traditional Hanagasa ondo music.
You can make this Hanagasa at some farmhouse inn.(Photos are provided by
