Toho village, located at southern part of Fukuoka Pref. is one of the most beautiful villages in Japan. This village consists of two areas, Hojusan and Koishihara, both of which was independent village before merger. They have different feature, Hojusan is farming area and Koishihara is famous for its chinaware production.

In Hojusan area there is famous power spot, “Iwaya Shrine”. They enshrine the stone called as “Hoju stone” fallen from the sky.

In the upper area of Iwaya Shrine there is Kumano Shrine in the steep cave. It is said that this cave was made by the kick of long-nosed goblin. It is really incredible that somebody made this shrine in such a dangerous place.

One more view spot of Hojusan area is stone-made bridge of JR Hita-Hikoyama Line. However, due to the heavy rain two year before the train now stops its operation, unfortunately.

As mentioned above, Hojusan area is farming area. There is famous rice terrace at “Take” district. You can by the rice made in this rice terrace at roadside station.

Another area Koishihara is famous for chinaware. There are plenty of potteries in this area. The best way to choose your favorite chinaware is that you go to the shop located at roadside station at first where you can see the products of various potteries. Of course you can buy at this shop, but why don’t you visit the pottery after choosing your favorite chinaware.

I like “Kamitsurugama” pottery and visit them and find good beer glass over there.

Now every night I enjoy beer with this glass.
